Gwangju Urban Corporation (President Kim Seungnam) announced on the 7th that it recently carried out a spring citizen participation volunteer activity to maintain the Gwangjucheon Stream.
The corporation conducted activities such as throwing EM mud balls and collecting trash along the stream to improve the environment of Gwangjucheon. About 60 employees participated in the volunteer work, putting in great effort.
In particular, the employees threw 200 EM mud balls into the stream, spending meaningful time to improve water quality and restore the ecological environment of Gwangjucheon. EM mud balls are made by kneading EM fermented liquid, which contains various beneficial microorganisms, with red clay, and are effective in purifying streams.
President Kim Seungnam said, "I hope this activity will help improve our local stream environment and create a pleasant urban space," and added, "We will continue to take the lead in environmental protection and actively practice ESG management."
Meanwhile, along with this Gwangjucheon maintenance activity, the corporation also promoted the 'Yonggi Nae Challenge' campaign to encourage the use of reusable containers, taking the lead in environmental action for a sustainable future.
