Recruitment for Garment Sewing, Machinery and Metal, Printing, Jewelry, and Handmade Shoes Industries Until April 17
Up to 9 Million KRW Support for Items Improving Work Efficiency and Working Environment
Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) is recruiting companies to participate in the support project for improving the working environment of the five major urban manufacturing industries until April 17.
To improve the aging workplace environment, the district will support up to 9 million KRW per company, an increase of 4 million KRW compared to last year. The five target urban manufacturing industries are garment sewing, machinery and metal, printing, jewelry, and handmade shoes.
The support items include 10 safety management items such as fire extinguishers, fire detectors, and circuit breakers; 16 items necessary for improving the working environment such as restroom improvements, air purifiers, and LED lighting; and 9 items to enhance work efficiency such as work chairs, sewing machine auxiliary tables, and conveyors.
Additionally, items recognized as necessary for improving the working environment after expert consulting can also receive support. However, essential manufacturing equipment such as sewing machines and printing machines are not eligible for support.
The recruitment target is small business owners operating the five major urban manufacturing industries located in the region who meet the following conditions: △ fewer than 10 regular employees △ agreement to on-site surveys, consulting and education, and up to 3 years of follow-up management and status measurement △ payment of national and local taxes as of the application deadline.
In particular, priority support will be given after evaluation to △ companies located underground or semi-underground that are regularly exposed to harmful substances △ companies below average standards in dust, illumination, noise, and electrical safety △ companies with a long business history at the current workplace.
The subsidy will be paid after the company completes the environmental improvements and passes the completion inspection. Companies must bear 10% of the total cost.
Small business owners wishing to apply can check the required documents and detailed information on the Geumcheon-gu Office website under ‘Notices and Announcements’ and apply via email or visit the Regional Economy Division by the 17th.
The district will conduct on-site surveys with professional consulting agencies to review the items requested for support at the workplaces. Afterward, the decision on support will be made through the Seoul City public contest and the Seoul City Subsidy Management Committee’s review, and the selection results will be individually notified in June.
Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, “We ask for the active participation of small business owners in the five major manufacturing industries in the region to build a safe working environment and strengthen competitiveness.”
Meanwhile, last year, the district supported 116 businesses with over 500 million KRW for improving the working environment, helping to enhance work efficiency and safety management.
