Lee Jun-seok's First Presidential Bid After Yoon's Dismissal Heads to TK

Lee Jun-seok, a member of the Reform New Party, visited Daegu and Gyeongbuk (TK) on the 6th, marking his first presidential campaign move since the impeachment of former President Yoon Seok-yeol.

On the same day, Lee posted photos on Facebook showing his visit to the ancestral graves of his grandparents at Cheonggu Park Cemetery in Chilgok-gun, Gyeongbuk.

He stated, "I start today's schedule in TK by paying respects at my grandparents' graves," adding, "I will then move to Yeongdeok, my grandmother's hometown, to inspect the wildfire damage site and offer whatever small help I can."

Earlier, on the 4th, immediately after former President Yoon's impeachment, Lee said at an emergency party supreme council meeting, "There is a high possibility that public sentiment in the Yeongnam region will be greatly shaken," and "Above all, although support for President Yoon and the conservative camp was solid and strong, the sense of betrayal has only grown larger."

In February, Lee held a press conference and officially announced his presidential candidacy, saying, "It is time to end old politics."
