Major Portal Sites Update Personal Information
The Constitutional Court ruled to dismiss former President Yoon Seok-yeol, and portal sites quickly updated related personal information.
At 11:22 a.m. on the 4th, immediately after the Constitutional Court announced, "President Yoon Seok-yeol is dismissed," major portals such as Naver, Daum, and Nate changed the search results for 'Yoon Seok-yeol' to display him as 'former president.' First Lady Kim Geon-hee was also changed to 'former first lady.'
Searching on Google also introduced him as the 'former President of the Republic of Korea.' Former First Lady Kim Geon-hee is listed as a 'businessperson of the Republic of Korea.'
Meanwhile, the Constitutional Court unanimously ruled to dismiss former President Yoon Seok-yeol on the 4th. At the grand courtroom, at the verdict date for Yoon’s impeachment, the court announced at 11:22 a.m., "The respondent, President Yoon Seok-yeol, is dismissed." According to Article 71 of the Constitution, the Prime Minister will act as the president’s proxy, and a presidential election will be held within 60 days.
