Kim Jungyu Takes Silver in Men's Hammer Throw
Mokpo National University Track and Field Team Achieves Outstanding Results at National Championships
The Mokpo National University Track and Field Team (President Song Hacheol) announced on the 4th that it achieved outstanding results at the 80th National University Track and Field Championships held at Gimhae Sports Complex from the 1st to the 3rd.

At this event, Kim Jeongin, a first-year student in the Department of Physical Education, took first place in the women's university heptathlon (100m hurdles, 200m, 800m, high jump, long jump, shot put, javelin throw). In addition, Kim Jungyu, also a first-year student in the same department, won the silver medal by finishing second in the men's university hammer throw with a record of 48m 40cm.
Park Heeseok, the track and field team's supervising professor, stated, "This achievement was possible thanks to the athletes' consistent efforts and the dedicated support of the coaching staff. In particular, the outstanding performances of freshmen Kim Jeongin and Kim Jungyu make us look forward to an even brighter future."
The Mokpo National University Track and Field Team is currently training every week after school at Mokpo Sports Complex, with an inauguration ceremony scheduled for May. The team plans to continue providing strong support to nurture outstanding athletic talent and improve the training environment for student athletes.
