"Now It's About People's Livelihood"... Yuseonghun, Geumcheon District Mayor, Holds Emergency Meeting on Impeachment Verdict

Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that it held an emergency countermeasure meeting at 2 p.m. on the 4th in the small conference room of the district office, immediately after the Constitutional Court's ruling to accept the presidential impeachment trial.

The meeting was organized to minimize confusion within the region following the acceptance of the impeachment trial and to ensure administrative continuity. The discussion focused on five main agenda items: ▲preparation for the early presidential election ▲strengthening the political neutrality of public officials ▲adjustment of event schedules ▲regional safety measures ▲revitalization of the local economy.

Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, emphasized, "During politically turbulent times, the livelihood of the people is the most important," adding, "We must swiftly implement the currently ongoing support policies for traditional markets, small business owners, and small and medium-sized enterprises, and carefully review budgets to continue providing support that residents can tangibly feel."

He continued, "Since the election period has begun immediately after the acceptance of the impeachment trial, we must prepare the election fairly and without any setbacks," and said, "We will once again check for any issues related to election laws in the vicinity and conduct a comprehensive review to ensure thorough preparation for the early presidential election."

The district plans to form the 'Geumcheon-gu Election Affairs Promotion Team' to prepare for a fair and smooth early presidential election. According to the election schedule set by the Election Commission, the team will provide election support and operate Q&A sessions regarding the Public Official Election Act, undertaking thorough preliminary preparations.

Also, as the political neutrality of public officials is even more important at this time, compliance with service regulations will be emphasized for all employees, and internal guidelines will be strengthened to maintain political neutrality and prevent violations during the election period.

Considering the restriction on local government heads' activities 60 days before the election day and the social atmosphere, the schedules for planned large-scale festivals and events will be thoroughly reviewed. Unnecessary events will be postponed or scaled down.

Prioritizing the alleviation of residents' anxiety and social safety, a rapid information-sharing system will be established with related agencies such as the police station and fire station, and continuous situation management will be conducted in crowded and vulnerable areas.

Furthermore, to respond to economic instability caused by the impeachment political situation, support policies for traditional markets, small business owners, and small and medium-sized enterprises will be swiftly implemented. The district plans to focus on recovering the local economy through early budget execution and other measures.
