Opinions of the Mid-sized Enterprise Sector
on the Constitutional Court’s Acceptance
of President Yoon Suk-yeol’s Impeachment
On the 4th, regarding the Constitutional Court's acceptance of the impeachment of President Yoon Seok-yeol, the small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) sector stated, "As the final result derived from the collective intelligence of the people at this point in time in the democracy of the Republic of Korea, all members of society, regardless of ruling or opposition parties or ideological differences, should humbly accept it based on their responsibility for the well-being of the national community."
The Korea Association of Mid-sized Enterprises issued a statement on the same day, saying, "With the Constitutional Court's final decision made, the highest priority should be given to fully activating the government's policy control tower, thoroughly examining the causes of the situation, prioritizing recovery plans for each sector, and making every effort to eliminate further national confusion by ensuring close cooperation with the National Assembly to stabilize the future political path."
The mid-sized enterprise sector particularly emphasized, "To overcome the worst global economic situation, such as the Trump administration's second term hardline policy stance materializing in excessive tariffs imposed even on allied countries, the government must fully activate official and unofficial diplomatic channels, establish and rapidly operate an efficient cooperation system that drives synergy with companies as private diplomats."
Furthermore, the mid-sized enterprise sector added, "Recognizing clearly the mission bestowed as the 'backbone' of the Korean economy and the 'center' of exports, we will do our utmost to build a foundation for overcoming the crisis and making a leap forward through active innovative investment, creating more quality jobs, and steady growth."
