Citizens Gather at May 18 Democracy Square Ahead of Constitutional Court Ruling
On the morning of the 4th, ahead of the Constitutional Court's ruling on the impeachment trial of President Yoon Sukyeol, about 1,000 citizens (according to organizers' estimates) gathered at the May 18 Democracy Square in Dong-gu, Gwangju to watch the court's decision broadcast on a large screen as part of the "Gwangju Emergency Action for the Immediate Resignation of Yoon Sukyeol and Social Reform" rally. Holding placards with messages such as "Immediate Dismissal of Coup Leader Yoon Sukyeol," they called for the president's removal from office. A large banner reading "Gwangju Has Arrived! Dismissal Is Coming!" was also hung on the outer wall of the nearby Jeonil Building 245, adding to the tense atmosphere. Reporter: Kim Wanjung
