This year’s competition will feature a total of 44 events in seven categories, including machinery, metal & transportation, and electrical & electronics, such as polymechanics, welding, piping, and industrial electronic devices. A total of 344 participants will compete to showcase their skills.
Among the participants is a former traditional Korean music major who, after the passing of their father, master craftsman Jang Yongho in lacquerware two years ago, is drawing attention by making a fresh start in woodworking to carry on the family craft.

During the competition, Busan Mechanical Technical High School will host a variety of hands-on activities for visitors in addition to the main events.
Skilled worker organizations such as the Busan Chapter of the Korea Master Craftsmen Association will join to offer experiences such as hair styling, nail art, making natural moss crafts, and tasting strawberry fresh cream cake and Jjajangmyeon.
