Kim Nakho, the mayor of Gimcheon, held his inauguration ceremony on the 3rd and officially began his duties as mayor.

On the morning of the 3rd, Kim Nakho, mayor of Gimcheon, is delivering his inaugural speech at the Gimcheon City Hall auditorium.

In his inaugural address, Mayor Kim stated, "I have been inaugurated as the mayor of Gimcheon by the choice of the citizens," adding, "For Gimcheon's new future, I will practice communication, cooperation, and just administration."

Mayor Kim first expressed his condolences for the victims of the recent wildfires in northern Gyeongbuk and offered words of comfort to the residents affected by the disaster. He continued, "I sincerely thank all citizens for their passionate support and encouragement that brought me to this position," emphasizing, "I will become a mayor who meets the expectations of the citizens."

He presented 'communication' as the first direction of his administration. Mayor Kim declared, "If it is for the citizens, I will not hesitate to do anything," and added, "I will be a mayor who looks only to the citizens and does not waver."

Emphasizing 'just administration,' he said, "I will clearly distinguish between public and private matters, take responsibility as mayor, and give credit to the staff." He also expressed his intention to prepare for Gimcheon's next 100 years with strong teamwork in cooperation with members of the National Assembly and city and provincial council members.

Mayor Kim stressed, "I will quickly restore public sentiment shaken by the long administrative vacancy and establish discipline among public officials to lay the foundation for Gimcheon's development."

He especially urged, "Public officials should do their utmost for the development of the city and for the citizens," and added, "As mayor, I will listen to the voices of the citizens and create a more principled and hardworking Gimcheon."

He continued, "I will prepare practical support measures for self-employed people and small business owners to energize the local economy," pledging, "As a mayor preparing for the future, I will do my best for the sustainable development of Gimcheon."

Finally, Mayor Kim asked for continued interest and support, pledging, "With open administration together with the citizens, I will lead Gimcheon to a new leap forward."
