On the 2nd, Shinhan Bank announced on the 3rd that it held a launch ceremony for the Uzbekistan overseas medical volunteer team at Seoul National University Dental Hospital in Jongno-gu, Seoul.


The volunteer team consists of a total of 26 members, including Shinhan Bank employees and medical staff from Seoul National University Dental Hospital. From the 7th to the 15th, during a 7-night, 9-day period, they plan to perform surgeries for 25 children with cleft lip and palate and facial deformities at the National Dental University in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Free dental treatment will also be provided for vulnerable children and adolescents. Additionally, they plan to newly support denture prosthetic treatment for elderly Koreans in the region.


For this year's 16th overseas medical volunteer activity, Shinhan Bank also donated 100 million KRW to Seoul National University Dental Hospital.


Since 2008, Shinhan Bank has been conducting medical volunteer activities targeting vulnerable children in developing countries such as Cambodia and Uzbekistan in partnership with Seoul National University Dental Hospital. Up to last year, they have provided free surgeries and treatments to a total of 3,840 people.


At the launch ceremony, President Jeong Sang-hyeok of Shinhan Bank said, "We hope to continue being a light that brings hope to neighbors in need and to carry on this beautiful journey."
