Daejeon City to Create 55,223 Jobs This Year... Announces Job Creation Target

Daejeon City announced that it has established and published its detailed job creation plan for 2025, aiming to create approximately 52,000 jobs this year.

The plan consists of five core strategies, twelve key initiatives, and 169 detailed projects, with a total investment of 326.8 billion KRW to create 55,223 jobs and achieve an employment rate (ages 15-64) of 67.2%.

The main directions include: ▲Focusing on job creation preferred by young people to build an employment ecosystem that leads to job retention and local settlement ▲Strengthening employment services to alleviate labor market mismatches ▲Creating quality jobs by fostering new industries ▲Upgrading the industrial structure from service-oriented to high-tech industry-centered.

Yoo Deukwon, Deputy Mayor for Administrative Affairs of Daejeon City, said, "Despite the decreasing working-age population and challenging economic conditions, we will focus all our efforts on revitalizing Daejeon's economy and creating jobs that citizens can truly feel."
