Establishing 'PV5 Town' to Offer Customized Vehicles
EV4, EV3 GT Line, and EV9 GT Electric Vehicle Lineup
Kia announced on the 3rd that it will unveil the customer-tailored mobility solution (PBV) 'The Kia PV5' for the first time in Korea at the '2025 Seoul Mobility Show' held from the 3rd to the 13th at KINTEX in Ilsan, Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do.
PBV is Kia's mobility solution that integrates vehicles and software developed from the customer's perspective to transform the paradigm of mobility. The first dedicated PBV, the PV5, was developed to be used for various purposes such as mobility services, logistics, and leisure activities by applying a purpose-tailored vehicle structure and advanced technologies.
Based on Hyundai Motor Group's dedicated electric vehicle platform 'E-GMP,' the PBV-exclusive platform 'E-GMP.S' was applied for the first time, offering spacious interior and cargo space. Various upper bodies can be mounted according to the purpose, allowing for a wide product lineup ranging from small to large PBVs.
Kia exhibited the PV5 zone lineup including ▲Passenger, focused on passenger boarding ▲Cargo, specialized for logistics and urban delivery with ample cargo space ▲Wave (WAV), developed to enhance mobility convenience for the transportation-vulnerable.
Additionally, Kia unveiled the 'Spillraum Studio' for mobile offices and the 'Spillraum Glow Cabin' for picnics, PBV concept cars applying customized space solutions in collaboration with global electronics brand LG Electronics.
The Spillraum Studio concept car is equipped with LG Electronics' Styler, smart mirror, coffee machine, and more, optimized for the PV5 interior space, while the Spillraum Glow Cabin concept car features a refrigerator, microwave oven, wine cellar, and other appliances.
Kia also showcased the world's first special concept model of its first authentic pickup, the Tasman, which began accepting orders in February. The Tasman is characterized by stable off-road and on-road driving capabilities, spacious interior and cargo space secured through optimal second-row design, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).
The Tasman Weekender, an outdoor lifestyle concept model, includes ▲35-inch tires optimized for rough terrain driving ▲body-color type overfenders wrapping the tires ▲multi-rails for mounting action cams, lanterns, and more, providing the optimal solution for customers who enjoy 'overlanding' to explore remote areas.
Furthermore, Kia is presenting a dedicated electric vehicle lineup centered on 'The Kia EV4,' including the EV3 GT Line and EV9 GT. The EV4 is the fourth dedicated electric vehicle introduced to the domestic market and Kia's first compact electrified sedan. Based on the 'E-GMP' platform, it offers a long-range model equipped with an 81.4kWh battery and a standard model with a 58.3kWh battery.
An interactive event was also prepared where visitors can experience and remember the EV4's single-charge driving range of 533 km by virtually driving the vehicle through a game.
At the 'Kia Connect Store' exclusive experience center, Kia showcased the 'KBO Display Theme' in collaboration with the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO). This is a customized digital product that allows customers to change the color and graphics of the vehicle's large 'ccNC' display to themes of baseball teams from 10 leagues.
Jung Won-jung, Vice President and Head of Kia's Domestic Business Division, said, "The PV5 best represents the direction of mobility innovation that Kia pursues," adding, "As an optimized customized solution that adapts to diverse customer needs and businesses, it will open a new horizon in the mobility market."
