According to Yonhap News and the business community on the 2nd, Hyundai Construction and Hyundai Engineering, which have their headquarters near Anguk Station, announced through an internal notice that all employees will work from home on the ruling day (the 4th). Only a minimal number of staff will come to the office to prepare for emergencies such as building security. The company explained that this decision was made to ensure the safety of employees, as large-scale rallies are expected around the Constitutional Court on the day of the ruling.
GS Construction, headquartered in Jongno-gu, Seoul, also decided to allow only its headquarters staff to work from home on the 4th. Korean Air reportedly recommended that employees working at the Seosomun Building in Jung-gu take leave.
Meanwhile, the Government Seoul Office near Gwanghwamun Station plans to close most entrances and strengthen security checks on the 4th, the day of the ruling. The Ministry of the Interior and Safety sent an official document to each ministry housed in the Seoul Office stating that from midnight on the 4th, vehicle and employee entrances at the main gate facing Gwanghwamun Square will be closed. Security checks, including identity verification, will also be intensified at the civil service office entrance.
