Hwasun County, Jeonnam, Receives 'Excellent Institution' Rating for Active Administration for 2 Consecutive Years

Hwasun-gun (Governor Koo Bokgyu) announced on the 2nd that it has been selected as an "Outstanding Institution" for the second consecutive year in the 2024 Comprehensive Evaluation of Proactive Administration.

In this evaluation conducted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, which assessed 243 local governments nationwide on five categories and 17 indicators, Hwasun-gun was selected as an outstanding institution, ranking in the top 30%.

Hwasun-gun was recognized for its efforts to protect proactive public officials through measures such as selecting outstanding public officials, operating a mileage system to encourage proactive administration, revising ordinances related to litigation, implementing an immunity protection officer system, and establishing a pre-consulting system.

In particular, the "Sapyeong Laundry Room Operation" initiative implemented in the first half of last year was selected as an exemplary case by Jeollanam-do, and the "Hwasun Park Golf Course Development" also received praise as a case of active collaboration.

Koo Bokgyu, Governor of Hwasun-gun, personally gave lectures to managerial-level employees last year to convey the philosophy and determination of the institution's leader regarding proactive administration.

Through these efforts, Hwasun-gun achieved the distinction of being selected as an outstanding institution for two consecutive years, following its success in 2023.

Joo Changhyun, Director of the Hwasun-gun Autonomous Administration Division, stated, "As tangible rewards are given for practicing proactive administration, it is becoming established as part of our organizational culture," adding, "We will continue to provide fair rewards to proactive public officials and implement various policies to protect their rights and interests."
