4.2 By-election Voter Turnout at 4 PM Stands at 20.39%

Busan Metropolitan City Superintendent of Education 17.1%

The voter turnout for the April 2 by-elections held in 23 locations nationwide, including five basic local government heads, was recorded at 20.39% as of 4 p.m. on the day.

The National Election Commission announced that out of a total of 4,620,908 eligible voters, 942,418 had cast their votes by 4 p.m. since voting began at 6 a.m. that day.


The combined voter turnout for the five basic local government head elections was 30.69%, with the turnout for the Guro-gu District Mayor by-election recorded at 20.2%. The voter turnout for the Busan Metropolitan City Superintendent of Education re-election was 17.1%.


The reported turnout includes early voting conducted on March 28-29 (turnout of 7.94%) and absentee ballots.


Voting will continue until 8 p.m. at 1,468 polling stations nationwide.
