Gwangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Bang Se-hwan) announced on the 2nd that it was selected as an 'Excellent' institution in the 2025 comprehensive evaluation of non-tax revenue management.
This evaluation assessed the overall management of non-tax revenue across 31 cities and counties in Gyeonggi Province last year, based on 9 indicators in 5 areas: non-tax revenue imposition, collection performance, discovery of new non-tax revenue sources, and special policies.
The city sought various collection measures to recover overdue non-tax revenue, including ▲operating a task force responsible for collecting overdue non-tax revenue and holding performance reporting meetings ▲implementing a focused management system for charges ▲employing part-time fixed-term public officials, and made efforts to improve the collection rate.
Additionally, Gwangju City held healing workshops for non-tax revenue officers and awarded commendations to those who excelled in overdue non-tax revenue collection evaluations, strengthening the capabilities and morale of the staff in charge of non-tax revenue tasks.
A Gwangju City official stated, “We will continue to make efforts to establish a fair taxation system by strengthening field-centered overdue collection activities, implementing customized disposition for defaulters, clearing overdue amounts, and discovering non-tax revenue sources that have been evaded or omitted.”
