Development of a 166,000㎡ Stay-type Rural Tourism and Leisure Complex
"It will become a new landmark of Yongin." Lee Sang-il, Mayor of Yongin City, Gyeonggi Province, expressed his determination to develop 'Yongin Farm&Forest Town' as a representative tourist destination of the region.
On the 1st, Mayor Lee visited the construction site of Yongin Farm&Forest Town being developed in Baegam-ri, Baegam-myeon, Cheoin-gu to check the progress. This project involves creating a 166,635㎡ scale stay-type rural leisure tourism complex in the area around 224-3 Baegam-ri.
Mayor Lee said, "Yongin Farm&Forest Town will provide a space for tourists visiting Yongin and citizens to rest their lives and heal their weary minds," adding, "We will successfully complete the project and make it a new landmark of Yongin."
He added, "Please ensure smooth progress according to the planned schedule, including the promotion of the planned public offering project and securing the budget for next year, so that construction is not delayed," and "Please prioritize safety and thoroughly manage to prevent poor construction."

Started last October, this complex is also developing a stay-type agricultural and livestock convergence tourism and leisure complex. Construction is underway with the goal of pilot operation in the second half of next year. The complex will be equipped with various facilities such as ▲main building ▲Hidden Forest Village ▲Pet Theme Park ▲campground ▲food market ▲Harmony Square ▲play garden ▲children’s forest experience center ▲blooming garden ▲healing theme road ▲parking lot. The main building will operate various convenience facilities including a local food direct store for promoting, exhibiting, and selling local agricultural and livestock products, as well as cafes and restaurants for visitors.
The accommodation facility, 'Hidden Forest Village,' will be built in various types such as row houses, villas, and pet-friendly types to reflect diverse demands including group users and family travelers. Especially, the Pet Theme Park will include accommodations where pets can stay together with their owners, as well as various pet-friendly cafes and playgrounds. The auto campground, caravans, and camping support facilities are provided to meet the increasing demand for camping.
In the central part of the complex, a food market and Harmony Square will be created. The food market will be used as a space to experience the food culture of each region. During special event periods, flea markets, barbecue areas, and food trucks will be set up, and normally it will be used as a grass plaza. In addition, Harmony Square will have a performance hall where resident participation content and various festivals, performances, and exhibitions can be held.
