Benefits such as Priority Patent Examination
and Registration Fee Reductions
JW Pharmaceutical announced on the 2nd that it has been selected as an 'Excellent Company for Employee Invention Compensation in 2025,' organized by the Korean Intellectual Property Office and the Korea Invention Promotion Association.
The Excellent Company for Employee Invention Compensation certification system is designed to encourage in-house employee invention systems and strengthen fair compensation frameworks for inventors, thereby promoting creative technological development within companies. Certified companies receive benefits such as priority examination for patents, utility models, and designs, as well as additional reductions in registration fees. Furthermore, they are granted preferential points in government-supported projects including those by the Korean Intellectual Property Office, along with special privileges such as SGI Seoul Guarantee insurance premium discounts and expanded guarantee limits. JW Pharmaceutical's certification period for the Employee Invention Compensation Excellence is three years, starting from March 20 of this year.
JW Pharmaceutical operates patent management regulations and annually evaluates inventions through the Employee Invention Review Committee based on criteria such as the possibility of securing patent rights and business applicability. Following the evaluation, grades are assigned and compensation is paid to inventors. Additionally, to motivate employees' inventive spirit, the company has revised the employee invention compensation system, striving not only to secure intangible assets but also to ensure reasonable compensation.
During the two-year evaluation period for employee invention compensation, JW Pharmaceutical completed compensation for six registered cases. Moving forward, JW plans to expand education and support programs aimed at establishing a culture of employee invention and generating intellectual property (IP). In particular, the company intends to strengthen intellectual property awareness activities for all employees across the organization, not just in research and development (R&D), and to refine the reward system for outstanding inventors. Through these efforts, JW aims to enhance company-wide innovation capabilities and leap forward as a globally competitive enterprise.
A JW Pharmaceutical representative stated, "We continuously develop the employee invention compensation system so that employees' creative ideas can become the company's core competitiveness," adding, "We will continue to create an environment where excellent technologies receive fair evaluation and compensation, and build an innovation ecosystem based on intellectual property that can succeed in the global market."
