Imsil County in North Jeolla Province has been selected for the 'Regional and Industry Customized Job Creation Support Project' hosted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor.

With this selection, the county will operate the Imsil-gun Local JOB Center with a total project budget of 550 million KRW, by adding 300 million KRW of county funds to the 250 million KRW secured from national and provincial funds.

The Imsil-gun Local JOB Center plays an outstanding role in various areas, such as the Rural Job Support Project, mobile job services, job network establishment, and employment competency enhancement programs, to create quality jobs and promote employment for the unemployed.

In particular, the Rural Job Support Project is a representative initiative that alleviates the difficulties of farmers struggling with labor shortages during the busy farming season by linking local manpower and idle urban labor to farming households.

Farmers in need of labor are provided with lunch expenses, snack expenses, and urban-rural promotion allowances, while job seekers requiring rural jobs receive transportation expenses and are enrolled in accident insurance for stable employment.

Additionally, the Imsil-gun Local JOB Center goes beyond providing in-person services and offers mobile services to provide customized jobs between companies and job seekers. Based on this, last year, it achieved an outstanding performance by connecting 356 regular workers, far exceeding the target of 200.

This year as well, the county expects to actively respond to population decline and aging in rural areas, and to resolve local labor shortages by addressing job mismatches in line with the region's industrial base, including local specialized companies.

County Governor Shim Min stated, "Through this project, we will resolve labor shortages in key projects such as the Rural Job Support Project and continue to maintain a stable employment environment," adding, "The county administration will actively support the Imsil-gun Local JOB Center so that it can firmly establish itself as the control tower for jobs."
