The vehicle safety evaluation conducted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Korea Transportation Safety Authority's Automotive Safety Research Institute assesses a total of 21 detailed criteria across three main areas: collision safety, external pedestrian safety, and accident prevention safety. This year, a total of 10 models were evaluated, and the Grand Koleos achieved a first-grade rating with a total score of 86.9 points.
The scores for the main categories are 53 points (88.4%) for collision safety, 16.8 points (84.1%) for external pedestrian safety, and 17.1 points (85.5%) for accident prevention safety. In particular, it received perfect scores in detailed evaluation items such as side collision safety, intelligent speed limiter, and lane keeping assist, recognizing its high safety performance.
The total score of 86.9 points achieved by the Grand Koleos ranks first among all SUV models evaluated in the 2024 vehicle safety assessment and among domestic completed vehicle manufacturers' models.
The Grand Koleos boasts excellent body safety by applying ultra-high-strength "hot press forming" parts at the highest rate in its class of 18%, along with numerous high-quality materials such as the new "Giga Steel" with over 980 MPa strength and advanced high-strength steel (AHSS). Additionally, it features up to 31 state-of-the-art advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and convenience functions, enhancing driving safety.
