"Failure to Appoint Ma Eun-hyuk as Justice Is a Constitutional Violation"
"Han Deok-su and Choi Sang-mok's 'Unconstitutional Relay' Must Be Stopped"
As the Constitutional Court set the date for the impeachment trial verdict of President Yoon Seok-yeol on the 4th, Park Hong-geun, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, asserted that "if President Yoon's impeachment is dismissed, the Democratic Party and other opposition parties, as well as civil society organizations, must officially declare that they will never accept it."
On the 1st, Park posted on Facebook, stating, "By pre-announcing a nationwide refusal and resistance movement, we must stop the perilous anti-state 'unconstitutional relay' by the two acting officials (Han Deok-su and Choi Sang-mok) with the power of the sovereign people."
Park pointed out, "It has been over a week since the baton of the unconstitutional relay of not appointing constitutional court justices, which started with acting officials Han Deok-su and Choi Sang-mok, was passed to the current acting official. Acting official Han has not explained why he refuses to appoint (Ma Eun-hyuk, the constitutional court justice nominee) despite the Constitutional Court's ruling of unconstitutionality." He raised his voice, saying, "He is refusing meetings not only with opposition party leaders and senior lawmakers but also with the Speaker of the National Assembly."
Park claimed that the continued refusal to appoint Justice Ma is a "clear constitutional violation," as well as "deliberate destruction of the constitutional order" and "malicious state mismanagement." He criticized, "By obstructing the Constitutional Court's normal impeachment decision, he has become a 'serious anti-state criminal who acts against the end of the rebellion and national stability.'"
Park argued, "If acting official Han refuses to appoint Justice Ma as ordered by the Constitutional Court, resulting in the court making an incomplete and abnormal quorum decision that either fails to dismiss or dismisses the rebel leader Yoon Seok-yeol, it is obvious that this cannot be accepted." He added, "As a sovereign citizen, we have no choice but to reject the unjust verdict of the Constitutional Court, and as a member of the National Assembly who has the duty to uphold the constitution, I absolutely cannot accept it."
He further stated, "At that time, it will be necessary to inherit the 'April 19 democratic ideals of resistance against injustice' mentioned in the preamble of our constitution and launch a large-scale and desperate resistance together with the people."
