The Gwangju Employers Federation (Gwangju Gyeongchong) announced on the 1st that it successfully held a briefing session on the '2025 Wage and Collective Bargaining Agreement Strategy and Support Project Guide.'
The briefing, held in the small conference room on the 2nd floor of the Kimdaejung Convention Center for both member and non-member companies, included listening to this year's economic outlook and labor union demands. In particular, it emphasized that member companies should thoroughly prepare in advance for potential instability in labor-management relations following the Supreme Court's en banc decision in December last year, which expanded the scope of ordinary wages.
The lecturer, supported by the Korea Employers Federation, covered the topic '2025 Economic Outlook and Key Wage Issues,' addressing domestic and international economic trends and forecasts, the movement toward shorter working hours, and response strategies. The session continued with 'Labor-Management Relations Outlook and Key Issues in Collective Bargaining for This Year,' analyzing last year's labor-management characteristics, this year's collective bargaining environment, and the Supreme Court's ordinary wage case and response strategies.
Before the main briefing, information was also provided on the Human Resources Development Service of Korea's projects, the youth-friendly ESG support project promoted by the Korea Employers Federation and the Ministry of Employment and Labor, Gwangju Gyeongchong's job support project, and the Gwangju Regional Employment and Labor Office's workplace innovation and win-win consulting support project.
Kim Dongchan, Executive Vice President of Gwangju Gyeongchong, stated, "This year, with economic uncertainty, wage and collective bargaining agreements have become more important than ever." He added, "We hope this briefing will help labor and management achieve effective coexistence and contribute to minimizing disputes and confusion at industrial sites."
