Taebaek City, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province (Mayor Lee Sang-ho) announced that starting from the 1st, the ‘Public Late-Night Children’s Hospital’ will be officially operated at the Korea Workers' Compensation & Welfare Service Taebaek Hospital to improve nighttime medical access for children and adolescents in the area.
It operates every Monday through Friday and is closed on weekends and public holidays. The operating hours are from 6 PM to 11 PM.
An official from the Taebaek City Public Health Center stated, “The Taebaek City Public Health Center has continuously consulted with the Korea Workers' Compensation & Welfare Service Taebaek Hospital to operate the Public Late-Night Children’s Hospital in order to fill the medical gap for children and adolescents in our city,” adding, “We will strive to enable daytime treatment and inpatient care in the future.”
Meanwhile, Taebaek City is discovering and expanding policies across pregnancy, childbirth, childcare, and education sectors to advance as a ‘child-friendly city.’
