This exhibition has been held annually in Tokyo since 2002 by the Korea International Trade Association to support domestic consumer goods companies' exports to Japan. This year, to commemorate the '2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo,' the event was held in Osaka for three days from the 27th to the 29th of last month.
Yongin City supported local SMEs by setting up a group pavilion at this exhibition. The group pavilion included 10 companies: ▲Greenie (cosmetics) ▲LVMN (cosmetics) ▲Sowon Company (alcoholic beverages) ▲JPC (sanitary masks) ▲HSC (beauty devices) ▲Seongpung Soled (LED floor pedestrian signals) ▲Heuksaek Health (black goat extract) ▲INGR (cosmetics) ▲Fair Green (cosmetics) ▲Living Icon (household goods).
The participating companies showcased a variety of products such as cosmetics, food, and daily necessities, conducting a total of 144 consultations with local buyers, resulting in a total consultation performance of $5.86 million, according to the city. Following this event, the city plans to dispatch market development teams to Southeast Asia in May and to the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in June.
The city will also provide separate support for SMEs participating individually in overseas exhibitions and is accepting applications from related companies until the 18th. Eligibility for support is limited to manufacturing and venture SMEs with headquarters or factories registered in the city, whose export volume last year was $20 million or less. Companies that have already participated in exhibitions held earlier this year can also apply retroactively.
The city will select supported companies through its own screening based on the submitted application documents. Selected companies will receive support of up to 8 million KRW for exhibition participation costs, including booth rental fees, installation costs, one-way transportation costs for exhibits, and promotional expenses. However, the support limit for companies participating in exhibitions in Asia is set at 4 million KRW.
Applications can be submitted online by checking the announcement and required documents on the 'Yongin Enterprise Support System.'
A city official stated, "Participating in overseas exhibitions is an important means to understand market trends and create new opportunities amid an unstable trade environment. We will actively support local SMEs to reduce their burden when participating in exhibitions."
