‘80th Anniversary of Liberation, Mugunghwa Flowers Have Bloomed’... 2025 Jungnang Mangwoo Space Planned Exhibition

Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) is hosting the planned exhibition "80th Anniversary of Liberation, The Rose of Sharon Has Bloomed!" in the Jungnang Mangwoo Space Education Exhibition Hall and outdoor exhibition area in the first half of 2025 to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Liberation Day.

This exhibition was prepared to look back on the footsteps of patriotic martyrs who dedicated themselves to independence and nation-building, and to enhance the cultural and artistic value of Mangwoo History and Culture Park.

The exhibition space was created as an eco-friendly exhibition hall reflecting ESG by reusing existing exhibition structures, vividly recreating an important turning point in modern and contemporary history so that people of all generations can empathize. The exhibition highlights independence activists resting in Mangwoo History and Culture Park, such as Yu Gwan-sun and Han Yong-un, further emphasizing the historical significance of the park.

In addition, in collaboration with "Smiling Child" (Director Seol Sun-young), a surprise performance (flash mob) linked to the exhibition will be held, delivering the exhibition’s message in various ways.

On April 5 and 12, street (busking) performances are scheduled at the first-floor media hall of Jungnang Mangwoo Space, offering a special cultural experience to residents visiting the park on sunny spring days.

Moreover, to make the exhibition more engaging for visitors, there are ▲trick art photo zones ▲hanbok experience ▲various performance programs available.

As an exhibition-linked experiential program, a "stamp tour" will be operated. Following a course connecting Jungnang Mangwoo Space, Yu Gwan-sun’s burial site, and Jungnang Observatory, visitors can enjoy the beautiful nature of the park while learning about the region’s history and cultural value, providing an educational and meaningful experience.

This exhibition runs from April 3 through August, open on weekdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on weekends from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free.

Ryu Kyung-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, said, “To commemorate the 80th anniversary of Liberation Day, we planned this exhibition to honor the patriotic martyrs resting in Mangwoo History and Culture Park and to widely promote the historical and cultural value of the park. I hope that residents will directly view the exhibition, reflect on the noble sacrifices of independence activists, and deepen their understanding of the park’s significance.”
