New Jamsil Station Stop Established for Songpa Route 01 Village Bus

Songpa-gu (District Mayor Seo Gang-seok) announced that, starting from 6 a.m. on April 1, the village bus route Songpa 01 has been adjusted and put into operation to improve transportation convenience for residents.

The adjusted route covers the village bus Songpa 01, which circulates through Oryun Intersection~Ogeum-dong~Songpa 2-dong~Seokchon Station~Jamsil Station · Songpa-gu Office.

Until now, considering that many bus routes pass through Jamsil Station Intersection, the Songpa 01 village bus operated by detouring via the underground road of Jamsil-gil to prevent traffic congestion. However, many passengers continuously raised complaints about not going directly to Jamsil Station.

In response, Mayor Seo Gang-seok changed the detour route via the underground road of Jamsil-gil to a U-turn in front of Songpa-gu Office, allowing the bus to go straight to Jamsil Station Intersection. Additionally, a new bus stop was installed at Exit 2 of Jamsil Station (in front of Lotte Department Store Avenuel Jamsil) to enhance connection with Line 2 of Jamsil Station.

The first bus with the changed route officially started operation from 6 a.m. on April 1. With the route adjustment, the bus no longer passes through the underground road of Jamsil-gil but moves directly from Seokchon Station to Jamsil Station Intersection, and the interval between buses is expected to be shortened.

This route adjustment received strong support with an approval rate of 81.8% from residents of nearby neighborhoods served by the Songpa 01 village bus. In particular, a resident living in Ogeum-dong welcomed the change, saying, “I had to walk quite a bit to use Line 2 of Jamsil Station, but now that a new village bus stop is right in front of the subway station, it will be much more convenient.”

The district is also promoting the expansion of convenience facilities such as bus stop boarding platforms and BIT (Bus Arrival Information Terminals) within the village bus sections, starting with this route adjustment.

Seo Gang-seok, Mayor of Songpa-gu, stated, “Expanding public transportation means transportation welfare for residents. Above all, we will operate village buses with safety as the top priority,” and added, “We will continue to carefully monitor all areas to ensure no transportation blind spots exist in Songpa-gu, discover more efficient routes, and strive to improve public transportation convenience for Songpa residents.”
