KBO Cancels All Games on April 1st to Mourn Victim of Changwon NC Park Accident
Moment of Silence and Mourning Ribbons to Be Observed in All Stadiums
The Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) announced that it will cancel all games on the 1st of next month to mourn the spectator who died in an accident at Changwon NC Park.

On the 31st, the KBO stated, "We have designated April 1st to 3rd as a mourning period, and on April 1st, to honor the victim, all KBO League and Futures League games will not be held."
It added, "The Changwon (SSG-NC) games, which were scheduled to be held without spectators, will be postponed for all three matches. Games in Jamsil, Suwon, Daejeon, and Gwangju will resume from April 2nd, and a moment of silence will be observed before the start of each game to honor the victim. The games will proceed without cheering, and all players participating will wear mourning ribbons to pay tribute to the victim."
The KBO also emphasized, "The KBO and the 10 teams will thoroughly inspect the safety of facilities and structures inside and outside the grounds at all stadiums before games. We will continuously seek ways to strengthen and refine the regular self-inspections conducted by the teams and local governments."
Furthermore, it said, "We sincerely pray for the repose of the soul of the victim of this accident. We will also be a KBO that shares the pain of the bereaved families, the injured, and all baseball fans and officials who have suffered deep mental and physical wounds."
According to Masan Dongbu Police Station on the same day, among the three spectators injured by a falling structure near the concession stand on the third base side at Changwon NC Park during the NC Dinos and LG Twins game on the 29th, a woman in her 20s who suffered a head injury died two days after the accident. The structure that fell on the spectators was a 'louver' made of aluminum, an exterior finishing material attached to the building's outer wall. Currently, A's younger sibling is undergoing treatment for a broken collarbone. The other injured person is reported to have bruises on the leg.
