Hampyeong County, Local Youth Exchange 'Policy Network'

Hampyeong County in Jeollanam-do announced on the 31st that it held a youth network event to discuss and exchange ideas on youth policies with local young people.

The youth network event, held at the Hampyeong County Youth Center on the 28th and 29th, was attended by about 20 local youths and related public officials.

This event was organized to discover ways to vitalize the Youth Center, which is scheduled to officially open in the second half of this year, and to inspire youth participation in policy-making by strengthening their capabilities. The program included: ▲Youth communication team building ▲Capability enhancement training ▲Proposal and discovery of ideas to vitalize the Youth Center ▲Plogging (volunteer activity).

In particular, during the training session, Jeong Gwangjin, the director of the Village Youth Research Institute and a former member of the Seoul Seongdong-gu Youth Policy Network, served as the instructor, explaining facilitation techniques, how to write policy proposals, and sharing best practices for youth policy participation.

County Governor Lee Sangik said, "It was a meaningful opportunity to hear directly from the youth and reflect their voices in our policies. Ahead of the official opening of the Youth Center scheduled for July this year, we will actively incorporate the various ideas that emerged from this event to create a base space that local youth can autonomously utilize."
