Previously, in June last year, Ulju County was selected for the Local Branding Revitalization Support Project for Living Zones, organized by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, securing a special grant of 300 million KRW.

The Local Branding Revitalization Support Project aims to activate the region by enhancing local characteristics and self-sustainability, utilizing unique local resources (such as culture, environment, and people) within daily living spaces for residents and visitors.

Ulju County applied for and was selected for the project under the title "Healthy Transition of Life and City, Deoksin Green Town Factory," aiming to use Onsan's local resources to create a happy daily life for residents, town makers, and the industrial complex together.

Plans are in place to establish a space for town makers to showcase their capabilities and a shared complex cultural space for residents, centered around Onsan Hanmaeum Hall.

Additionally, the county plans to create a foundation for local branding growth by establishing a local branding master plan, developing programs connecting town makers and the industrial complex, and implementing programs for nurturing town makers and linking them with residents.

At the forum, presentations were given on local branding cases such as "People Who Change the Alley" from Gwanagol in Chungju, followed by a presentation from an Onsan town maker titled "Lifestyle Dreamed in Onsan." The event also included discussions on incorporating residents' opinions and gathering feedback.

An Ulju County official stated, "Through this forum, we aim to increase residents' understanding of local branding and, together with the community, build a unique brand for Onsan to enhance regional competitiveness."
