Fundraising for Wildfire Victims through the Happiness Safe and Hometown Love Donation Program
Yeongyang County in North Gyeongsang Province has been unable to sleep at night due to the smoke rising again in various places, even before the wounds left by the worst wildfire in history on March 25 have had a chance to heal.
The victims of the wildfire, which claimed seven precious lives and caused the worst damage ever by destroying 5,070 hectares of forest, 112 buildings, 55 agricultural facilities, 3 livestock facilities, and 19 other structures, are desperately waiting for helping hands to recover from the nightmare and return to their daily lives.
In response, Yeongyang County has started fundraising for wildfire victims through designated donations to the Community Chest of Korea and specific project donations through the Hometown Love Donation Program.

County Governor Oh Dochang said, "The support from angels across the country is providing great strength for the affected residents to return to their daily lives as soon as possible," and added, "Although we are mobilizing all administrative resources to contain the fire and restore the damage, it is true that our efforts alone are not enough. However, the precious help gathered from all over the country is giving us the strength to overcome this." He expressed his gratitude.
Donations can be made for wildfire recovery in Yeongyang County through the North Gyeongsang Community Chest or by selecting 'Emergency Fundraising for Wildfire Recovery in Yeongyang County' in the 'Donate to Specific Projects on Hometown Love eum.'
