Second and Third Places Taken by Samsung Card
Shinhan Card's 'Mr.Life' ranked first among popular credit cards in the first quarter.
KardGorilla, the largest credit card platform in Korea, announced the 'Top 10' popular credit cards for the first quarter on the 31st. The ranking was based on the number of views and application conversions for each credit card product on the KardGorilla website from January 1 to March 23.
The first place went to Shinhan Card Mr.Life. It has ranked first four times from the first half of last year through the first quarter settlement. It offers discounts on essential living expenses such as monthly bills including utilities and communication fees, convenience stores, hospitals and pharmacies, laundromats, marts, online shopping, and fuel.
Second and third places were taken by Samsung Card. The second place is 'Samsung Card TapTap O,' which provides benefits for public transportation, communication fees, movies, and more. It also offers lifestyle package options such as coffee and shopping benefits, making it a representative card for young adults starting their careers. Recently, a 1.3% overseas cashback benefit was added.
The third place is 'Samsung Card & Mileage Platinum (Skypass).' This product has maintained its position as the undisputed number one Korean Air mileage card. In January, the benefits were changed to allow selection of special mileage accumulation areas. It earns 1 mile per 1,000 KRW spent as a basic reward.
Fourth place went to 'Hyundai Card M,' fifth to 'Lotte Roca LIKIT 1.2,' sixth to 'KB Kookmin My WE:SH,' seventh to 'Lotte Roca 365,' eighth to 'Woori Card's Jeongseok Every Mile Skypass,' ninth to 'Shinhan Card Cheoeum,' and tenth to 'Shinhan Card Deep Oil.'
Go Seung-hoon, CEO of KardGorilla, said, "Looking at the top popular credit cards in the first quarter, most of them offered benefits covering overall living expenses," adding, "Due to high inflation, consumers are expected to focus on major living expense areas when choosing cards this year."
