"Pressure for Re-impeachment of Han Deok-su
Is Defiance of Constitutional Court Ruling"
Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon criticized the Democratic Party of Korea, saying, "The Democratic Party, which is scheming to impeach all Cabinet members during a disaster situation, is a power-addicted party."
On the 30th, Mayor Oh wrote on Facebook, "(The Democratic Party's) pressure to re-impeach Acting President and Prime Minister Han Deok-su is no different from rejecting the Constitutional Court's ruling," adding, "They say they are managing the disaster verbally, but in reality, they are trying to paralyze the government's control tower, showing a double standard."
Earlier, Park Chan-dae, the Democratic Party floor leader, stated that if Acting President Han does not appoint Ma Eun-hyuk as a Constitutional Court justice by April 1, they will make a 'serious decision.' Mayor Oh responded, "It is clear what the serious decision is," and said, "As Democratic Party's first-term lawmakers declared in a statement, they intend to push for the impeachment of Acting President Han and all Cabinet members."
Mayor Oh emphasized the disaster situation caused by the large-scale wildfires. He said, "While the people are suffering from the wildfires, the major opposition party is effectively declaring the dismantling of the government," adding, "They are indifferent to the livelihood crisis and are solely obsessed with seizing power, which is no different from power-addicted behavior."
He then stated, "At times like this, it is urgent for conservatives to maintain their center and demonstrate crisis management capabilities that differentiate them from power-addicted forces," and added, "The ruling party and government, centered on Acting President Han, must unite in spirit and focus on overcoming the disaster."
