Gwangju Urban Corporation (President Kim Seungnam) announced on the 30th that it had carried out social contribution activities, including facility improvements, at Shinaewon, a child welfare facility located in Songha-dong, Nam-gu, as part of its ESG management on the 28th.
Shinaewon, which relocated to Songha-dong, Nam-gu in October 1985, is an aging facility that has been in use for over 40 years, making urgent repairs necessary throughout both the exterior and interior of the building. In particular, the outdoor wooden deck had severe corrosion and cracks, continuously raising concerns about safety accidents for the children using the facility.
This volunteer activity was led by employees of Gwangju Urban Corporation, who carried out the replacement of the deteriorated wooden deck. In addition, minor repairs were made inside the building to prevent safety accidents and to improve the environment of Shinaewon so that children can live in a better place.
President Kim Seungnam stated, "We plan to continue these activities on an ongoing basis for regional coexistence, rather than as a one-time event," and added, "We will continue to actively practice ESG management and provide practical support to local residents."
