Distributed to 349 Schools and Institutions
Includes Q&A and Case Studies for Practitioners
The Gwangju Office of Education announced on the 30th that it has produced a 'Guidebook for the Prevention of Serious Accidents and Industrial Safety and Health Management' and distributed it to 349 public and private schools and affiliated institutions in the region.
This guidebook was created to help schools respond more systematically to serious accidents and incidents subject to the Industrial Safety and Health Act that may occur on school premises. The main contents include: ▲ key provisions of the 'Serious Accident Punishment Act' and the 'Industrial Safety and Health Act' ▲ obligations for each institution ▲ practical Q&A ▲ related forms and sample cases. The city education office explained that the focus was on providing practical, field-oriented materials for staff in charge.
During the development process, the city education office collected feedback from schools on two occasions. Kim Namhun, administrative manager at Hwajeong Middle School, said, "Participating in the creation of the guidebook helped resolve many questions related to industrial safety and health management tasks," and added, "I hope it will be of practical help to staff in schools and institutions."
Superintendent Lee Jungseon stated, "I hope this guidebook will serve as a practical guide for the prevention of various industrial accidents, and I expect it to be a valuable educational resource for both field workers and supervisors."
