Jeollanam-do signed a 'MICE Joint Marketing Exchange and Cooperation Agreement' with Seoul Metropolitan Government, Jeollanam-do Tourism Foundation, and Seoul Tourism Organization at Seoul City Hall on the 28th to strengthen competitiveness in attracting domestic and international MICE events and to expand the influx of tourists.
The main points of the agreement include ▲ joint promotion of MICE incentives for foreigners ▲ joint publicity and marketing promotions ▲ cooperation on projects necessary for joint MICE marketing.
In particular, when hosting MICE events for foreigners, incentives of up to 60,000 KRW per person (30,000-40,000 KRW from Seoul, 20,000 KRW from Jeollanam-do) will be provided. The support covers vehicle and venue rental fees, meal and refreshment costs, admission fees to tourist attractions, accommodation expenses, and more.
Under the agreement, Jeollanam-do and Seoul will jointly hold familiarization tours and briefings for domestic travel agencies and carry out joint advertisements using domestic and international MICE media outlets.
Additionally, to ensure the successful hosting of the 2025 Namdo International Gastronomy Industry Expo, the parties plan to enhance pre-event publicity and efforts to attract visitors. They will promote 23 Jeollanam-do Unique Venues that reflect the unique charm of Jeollanam-do and expand the attraction of small and medium-sized MICE events.
Yoo Hyeonho, Director of Tourism and Sports at Jeollanam-do, said, "Through this agreement, we expect to significantly strengthen our competitiveness in attracting domestic and international MICE events by effectively combining Seoul's international MICE infrastructure with Jeollanam-do's specialized cultural and tourism content."
