Kwon Seongdong: "Total Impeachment Is a Disruption of Constitutional Order That Paralyzes the Executive Branch"
Democratic Party: "Delaying the Appointment of Justice Ma Eunhyuk Is Unconstitutional"
As the People Power Party took steps to file criminal charges of inciting rebellion against Democratic Party lawmakers who predicted the impeachment of Cabinet members and against leader Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party reacted, saying, "It is outrageous for a party involved in rebellion to accuse those striving to end the rebellion."

On the 29th, Kwon Seong-dong, floor leader of the People Power Party, announced that he would file charges against 72 people, including first-term Democratic Party lawmakers, Lee Jae-myung, and broadcaster Kim Eo-jun. This was in response to the Democratic Party's prediction of a series of impeachments of Acting President and Prime Minister Han Deok-soo and Cabinet members.
At a press conference that day, Floor Leader Kwon said, "Behind the impeachment prediction by the first-term Democratic lawmakers are Lee Jae-myung and Kim Eo-jun," adding, "We will file charges of conspiracy to commit rebellion and inciting rebellion against all 70 first-term lawmakers, the coup ringleader Lee, and Kim."
Earlier, on the 28th, 'Deomincho,' a group of first-term Democratic lawmakers, stated, "If Acting President Han does not appoint Ma Eun-hyuk, a nominee for the Constitutional Court justice, by the 30th, we will resume impeachment procedures," and warned, "This is a warning to all Cabinet members as well." Kim had mentioned the total impeachment of the Cabinet on his YouTube broadcast.
Floor Leader Kwon said, "Overthrowing or making it impossible for a state institution established by the Constitution to exercise its authority through coercion is a disturbance of the constitutional order, and the very idea of completely paralyzing the executive branch is treason." He added, "If Lee Jae-myung's attempt at a parliamentary coup becomes a reality, I will risk my life to fight alongside the people."
Regarding the People Power Party's filing of charges, Han Min-soo, spokesperson for the Democratic Party, said in a statement, "It is absurd to label the Democratic Party as a rebel force that should be eradicated instead of the rebel ringleader Yoon Seok-youl," and called Floor Leader Kwon's claims "nonsense not worth considering."
Spokesperson Han said, "It is truly disgraceful to close one's eyes and ears to prevent the impeachment ruling." He added, "The Constitutional Court has clearly stated that delaying the appointment of Justice Ma, which is the legislature's prerogative, is an unconstitutional act infringing on legislative authority. If Floor Leader Kwon wants to charge someone with rebellion, he should file charges against rebel ringleader Yoon Seok-youl and the ruling party lawmakers inciting rebellion."
