According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, from morning to afternoon, rain or snow is expected in the metropolitan area, inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon, and the Chungcheong region.


On the east coast of Gangwon, Jeolla region, northern inland, southwestern inland, and northeastern mountainous areas of Gyeongbuk, northwestern inland of Gyeongnam, and Jeju Island, raindrops or snow are expected from morning to afternoon.

Expected precipitation amounts are less than 5mm in eastern Gyeonggi and inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon, around 1mm in Seoul, Incheon, western Gyeonggi, and the five West Sea islands. Additionally, 1 to 5cm of snowfall is expected in the mountainous areas of Gangwon, and around 1cm of snow is likely to accumulate in northwestern and eastern Gyeonggi as well as inland Gangwon.

This snowfall is analyzed to have occurred due to cold air coming from the northwest, causing temperatures to drop by about 3 to 6 degrees Celsius compared to the average.


The Korea Meteorological Administration advised, "Due to this cold weather, roads are highly likely to freeze, so please pay attention to traffic safety."
