Han Kiwon, Former Invest Korea Head, and Kim Changwook, Former KPMG Partner, Also Recruited
Cha Biotech has recruited Choi Seok-yoon, former advisor at Meritz Securities, as vice chairman. Choi is scheduled to be appointed as CEO following the shareholders' meeting and board of directors on the 31st.
Vice Chairman Choi began his career at JP Morgan and worked at Daewoo Securities' local offices in Tokyo and London. He has served as the Korea representative for Credit Suisse, Barclays, and RBS, as well as co-CEO of Goldman Sachs Korea, accumulating over 40 years of experience in the investment banking industry. Afterward, he lectured for three years at his alma mater, Seoul National University Business School, and held positions as president of Meritz Fire & Marine Insurance's corporate division and advisor at Meritz Securities.
To expand its healthcare market in Asia, including hospital businesses in Japan, Cha Biotech also recruited Han Ki-won as president. Han worked for 25 years at Daiwa Securities, serving as the global head of Daiwa's investment banking division in Tokyo and London, and spent four years as the head of Invest Korea at KOTRA.
To improve management efficiency at LA Cha Hospital, Kim Chang-wook, former KPMG partner and certified public accountant with 35 years of experience in New York and LA, joined as the head of the local hospital management corporation.
To strengthen internal organization and affiliate management efficiently, Park Beon, who worked for over 30 years at Samsung Group financial companies, restructuring headquarters, and the London local office, and served as CEO of Samsung Futures, was also appointed as president.
Earlier, Cha Biotech Group has been promoting organizational innovation across the group, including recruiting Park Yoo-han, former head of KBS Economy Weekly and KBS Business, as head of the strategic planning division in July last year.
