COEX Appoints Jo Sang-hyun, Former Head of KITA International Trade and Commerce Research Institute, as New President

Three-Year Term Until 2028
Expert in International Trade and Commerce

COEX has appointed Cho Sang-hyun, former head of the Korea International Trade Association's International Trade and Commerce Research Institute, as the new CEO in his 20s.


On the 26th, COEX held a board meeting and a general shareholders' meeting and announced the appointment of former Director Cho as the new CEO for a three-year term. CEO Cho's term will last until March 2028.

CEO Cho is from Busan and graduated from the Department of Business Administration at Pusan National University and completed a master's course in Logistics Systems Engineering at Korea Maritime and Ocean University. He earned a Ph.D. in Economics from the Department of Trade at Pusan National University. He joined the Korea International Trade Association in 1990 and served as head of the Startup Global Support Office and director of the International Trade and Commerce Research Institute, accumulating extensive experience and expertise in the field of international trade and commerce.


A COEX official stated, "CEO Cho is expected to further strengthen COEX's role as a platform supporting the expansion of overseas market entry and enhancement of global competitiveness for our companies through exhibitions and conventions, based on his deep understanding of the rapidly changing global trade environment and strategic leadership."
