A restaurant in Shanghai, China, is facing criticism from consumers for selling half a chicken, described as a "chicken raised on music and milk," for 480 yuan (approximately 97,000 KRW).

On the 24th (local time), according to the Hong Kong South China Morning Post (SCMP), controversy arose after a customer who visited the restaurant filmed the dish and posted it on social media (SNS). The video shows the customer reacting with surprise upon hearing the price of the small chicken dish. The customer asked, "Is it really a chicken that listened to music and drank milk?" and the staff replied, "It is a rare breed called 'Haebaragi Dak' (Sunflower Chicken), raised while listening to classical music."

Haebaragi Dak is a type of 'Samhuang Dak,' a premium chicken breed favored by Michelin-star chefs. It is generally traded at over 200 yuan (about 40,000 KRW) per kilogram, and some restaurants sell a whole chicken for more than 1,000 yuan (about 200,000 KRW). However, according to local media investigations, a farm official stated, "It is true that the chickens listen to classical music, but they are not raised on milk." This has raised suspicions that the restaurant provided false information.

The customer who posted the video pointed out, "The problem is not the expensive price but deceiving customers with lies." Local netizens who saw the news also responded critically, saying things like "If only they hadn't lied," "The marketing is too much," "Does a chicken that listens to classical music taste better?" and "Please share what kind of music it listened to."
