On the 31st, the 'Yeoju Traveler Center (Bikotel)' located within the Silleuksa Temple tourist site in Yeoju, Gyeonggi Province, will hold its completion ceremony.
The Silleuksa Temple tourist site is a thousand-year-old temple located along the Namhan River and is a representative destination in Gyeonggi Province where history, culture, and natural scenery harmonize. It boasts an outstanding view overlooking the Namhan River, attracting visitors throughout all four seasons. This area was also included in the government-selected '60 Beautiful Bicycle Routes' last December, making it a popular spot for cycling enthusiasts.
The Traveler Center is an eco-friendly lodging and rest space remodeled from outdated accommodation facilities within the tourist site.
The center occupies a site area of 350 pyeong and is constructed with one basement floor and three above-ground floors. The basement floor houses a conference room and bicycle storage, while the first floor includes a tourist information center and community space. The second and third floors operate as lodging facilities for travelers, providing a comfortable resting place for long-distance cyclists.
This year, Gyeonggi Province plans to continuously support tourism development by investing 2.62 billion KRW in nine projects across seven regions, including Yeoju. Through this, it is expected to contribute not only to the expansion of tourism infrastructure but also to the revitalization of the local economy.
Jang Hyang-jeong, Director of the Tourism Industry Division of Gyeonggi Province, said, "We hope the Yeoju Traveler Center will enhance convenience for bicycle travelers and help Yeoju establish itself as an eco-friendly tourism hub," adding, "We will invigorate the local economy through sustainable tourism development in Gyeonggi Province."
