Gang Do-hyeong, Minister of Oceans and Fisheries, reported assets totaling 1,094,560,000 KRW under his and his family's names this year. This is a decrease of 55,460,000 KRW compared to the previous report, mainly due to a decline in real estate values.
According to the 2025 high-ranking public officials' asset changes disclosed by the Government Ethics Committee on the 27th, Minister Gang owns two plots of land (totaling 601㎡) in Seongsan-eup, Seogwipo-si, Jeju Island. Due to market fluctuations, the value dropped by about 12,000,000 KRW, and the total was appraised at 279,820,000 KRW. He reported a detached house (exclusive area 39.7㎡) and a warehouse (exclusive area 26.64㎡) located in Seongsan-eup, with a combined appraisal value of 122,390,000 KRW.
He owns a 2014 model Equus (engine displacement 5,038cc), with this year's appraisal value at 18,190,000 KRW. Deposits under his name are spread across seven institutions, including Kookmin Bank, Suhyup Bank, and Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance, totaling 180,900,000 KRW.
He also has debts. Financial debt at Nonghyup Bank amounts to 72,860,000 KRW, an increase of 11,180,000 KRW compared to last year.
Notably, two apartments are reported under his spouse's name. They own an apartment in Jeju Ara Switchen, Ara-il-dong, Jeju-si (exclusive area 102㎡), which decreased in official price by 39,000,000 KRW this year, currently valued at 458,000,000 KRW. They also own a Major Apartment in Ildo 2(i)-dong, Jeju-si (exclusive area 74.53㎡), currently appraised at 65,000,000 KRW. The spouse's financial debt is 107,200,000 KRW from the Korea Housing Finance Corporation, which decreased by 12,000,000 KRW from the previous year.
