Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo District, participated in the ‘2025 Spring Welcome Elders Filial Piety Meal Event with Samjin Pharmaceutical’ held at the Mapo Senior Welfare Center on the morning of March 26.
The ‘Filial Piety Meal’ is a one-stop customized elderly welfare policy unique to Mapo District, providing balanced lunch support for seniors aged 75 and older, checking on their well-being to prevent solitary deaths, and offering health consultations for conditions such as diabetes and hypertension.
At the event, Samjin Pharmaceutical donated 20 million KRW to the Mapo Welfare Foundation to support the Filial Piety Meal project.
Afterwards, Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo District, Jo Gyu-seok, CEO of Samjin Pharmaceutical, and about 20 Samjin Pharmaceutical executives and employees personally checked on the elders receiving the Filial Piety Meal and volunteered by washing dishes and tidying up after the meal service.
Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo District, who participated in the event, said, “We are very grateful to Samjin Pharmaceutical, which has promoted public health through pharmaceuticals, for also supporting the Filial Piety Meal that takes care of the health of our elders. Mapo District will gather this filial piety spirit to create a city where elders can be happy.”
On March 7, Mapo District completed the ‘Second Side Dish Factory,’ a large-scale facility for cooking and supplying food so that more elders can use the Filial Piety Meal service.
