Senior Police Officials Hold Average Assets of 1.81 Billion KRW

Senior police officials at the rank of Inspector General and above, who are subject to asset disclosure, were found to possess an average wealth of approximately 1.81 billion KRW.

According to the asset disclosure announcement by the Government Ethics Committee for Public Officials on the 27th, the average assets of 39 senior police officials at the rank of Inspector General and above amounted to 1.81475 billion KRW. This is an increase from last year's average of 1.75218 billion KRW.

Police Commissioner Jo Ji-ho, who has been indicted on charges related to important duties during the internal disturbance, reported assets worth 2.15506 billion KRW, including an apartment in Songpa-gu, Seoul, registered under his spouse's name, and bank deposits.

Acting Police Commissioner Lee Ho-young reported assets of 1.29463 billion KRW, including an apartment in Sejong City under his own name and bank deposits. Director Woo Jong-su of the National Investigation Headquarters held assets totaling 1.85173 billion KRW, including a mixed-use residential and commercial building in Hwagok-dong, Gangseo-gu, Seoul, jointly owned with his spouse, and bank deposits.

The highest asset reporter was former Police Investigation Planning Coordinator Yoon Seung-young, who declared 6.06744 billion KRW in assets, including an apartment in Seocho-gu, Seoul, four multi-family houses, a leasehold right on an apartment in Sujeong-gu, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi Province, and bank deposits. Former Coordinator Yoon was suspended from his position after being indicted for involvement in operating arrest squads during the emergency martial law situation.

Among the 39 police officials subject to asset disclosure, seven were multiple homeowners (including spouses).
