The Seosan Office of Education in Chungcheongnam-do conducted a special inspection of school meals at 36 schools and kindergartens in the district from the 10th to the 25th to mark the start of the new spring semester.
This inspection was carried out to raise awareness of hygiene through on-site checks, as the risk of food poisoning increases during the beginning of the school year.
The main inspection items included the management of food ingredients, personal hygiene, work hygiene, facility management, and the establishment of a response system for food poisoning, covering the overall operation of school meals.
Education Superintendent Sung Kidong said, "The beginning of the semester is a time when the risk of food poisoning is higher than ever, so special attention is needed. Please do your best to ensure healthy and safe school meals through thorough hygiene management in the cafeteria."
