Taekwang Group will hold a spring music concert throughout April to support busking performances by amateur musicians.
On the 26th, Taekwang Group announced that it is accepting applications from amateur musicians who wish to participate in performances held in the lobby on the 1st floor of the Heungkuk Life Building located in Jongno-gu, Seoul. The performances will take place on weekdays from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM, lasting about 30 minutes. Applicants can be individuals or teams with experience in street performances or small-scale concerts. They can apply with various genres including instrumental performances, vocal music, rap, a cappella, pansori, and folk songs.
Busking applicants must submit their application forms, including performance videos and self-introductions, by the 2nd of next month. Performers will receive a small performance fee or meal vouchers. Additionally, all applicants will be given admission tickets to the art cinema Cinecube. The concept of this music concert is "Enjoying Culture and Arts in the Urban City." All performances will be live-streamed on Taekwang Group’s official YouTube channel, and there will be prize events for on-site audiences.
Starting from the 9th of next month, regular performances by scholarship recipients of the Ilju Academic and Cultural Foundation of Taekwang Group will be held once a week. Young performers such as Ilju Academic and Cultural Foundation scholars Jeong Ji-hye (Yonsei University, piano), Go Yu-bin (Seoul National University, violin), Yoo Ye-eun (Hansei University, piano), Won Se-yeon (Seoul Haegum Ensemble, haegum), Park Chae-ryeon (Korea National University of Arts, piano), and Nam Eun-chae (Hanyang University, vocal) will take the stage.
A Taekwang Group official said, "We wanted to create a stage where people can comfortably enjoy music in the lobby while going back to their offices after lunch." He added, "Especially, we hope this will be an opportunity for amateur musicians with musical talent to showcase their skills and donate their talents."
