"Calling All Global K-Culture Fans"... Kakao Entertainment Officially Launches Berryz

Platform Launches on the 25th... Service Begins
Supporting Communication and Interaction Among K-Culture IP Fans

Kakao Entertainment announced that it officially launched the global K-culture fan platform 'Berriz' worldwide on the 25th and will begin full-scale service.

"Calling All Global K-Culture Fans"... Kakao Entertainment Officially Launches Berryz

Berriz plans to offer a variety of services for fans of all K-culture IPs, including human IPs such as artists and creators, as well as content IPs like webtoons, dramas, movies, and musicals. Kakao Entertainment stated, "Although berries differ in size and shape, they become bigger and sweeter when gathered together. Similarly, Berriz will establish itself as a playground where fandoms around the world who love K-culture can communicate and enjoy together across genres and fields."

Following the first participant, Antenna’s Jung Seunghwan, the rookie girl group KiiiKiii from Starship Entertainment will open an official fan community and engage closely with fans upon their official debut. In early next month, 'Bunny and Oppas,' a drama adapted from a Kakao Webtoon, will open its fan community ahead of its first broadcast. 'Bunny and Oppas' is a popular work with a cumulative 170 million views, directly planned and produced as a drama by Kakao Entertainment, and is scheduled to premiere on MBC on April 4.

Berriz aims to serve as a global fan platform where fans of all K-culture IPs?including Kakao Entertainment’s label artists and content IPs as well as various partners within the entertainment industry?can gather and enjoy music, webtoons, dramas, and more.

Berriz is a fan-friendly modular platform that selectively implements designs and services according to the characteristics and needs of each IP and fandom, providing specialized services tailored to each IP. It plans to introduce various forms of IP-customized communities by integrating artificial intelligence (AI), commerce, live streaming, and more. If necessary, it is also easy to modify the community structure to reflect the needs of IPs and fans.

Recently, fandom culture has emphasized not only communication with artists but also fans creating content themselves, sharing it with each other, and expanding enjoyment through interaction and exchange among fans. Based on the know-how accumulated through operating entertainment platforms and channels such as KakaoPage, Melon, and 1theK, Kakao Entertainment plans to create a new fandom culture.

Currently, Jung Seunghwan, who actively communicates and shares daily life with fans through Berriz, has opened some new services in the fan community with the official launch. A special space is provided exclusively for members of the official fan club US, where members can access the services through verification. Notably, all data previously posted on the official fan club’s exclusive board within the former fan community before Berriz will be transferred to Berriz. Berriz is currently available on web and mobile and supports translation in 18 languages, including Korean and English, for global fans.
