Customized Training Held on June 20
to Enhance Job Adaptability and Employment Competence
for Participants in Jobs for People with Disabilities
Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee) conducted customized training on the 20th to improve job adaptability for participants in jobs for people with disabilities.
This training was organized to help workers with disabilities smoothly adapt to the work environment, strengthen job and employment capabilities, and provide information useful for future employment in general companies to maintain stable jobs.
First, in the job adaptability improvement training, the head of the Job Development Team at the Korea Disabled People’s Development Institute was invited to provide practical information needed by people with disabilities seeking jobs, including ▲basic service guidelines and educational support ▲career counseling ▲guidance on successful employment strategies.
In the following session, a senior safety manager from Gwanak-gu explained safety rules and accident prevention measures to be observed during work, and a nutritionist from the Health Living Team at the Public Health Center introduced health management methods specialized for people with disabilities, delivering practical content to ensure safe and healthy work on site, which received great responses from attendees.
Meanwhile, the district continues to expand job projects to enable people with disabilities to gain practical job experience for self-realization and securing a stable economic foundation.
This year alone, the district selected a total of 189 people with disabilities, including ▲72 for general jobs ▲97 for welfare jobs ▲20 for assistant caregiver jobs for people with developmental disabilities.
In particular, this year the district plans to expand employment opportunities for people with disabilities by strengthening job improvement training for participants, expanding job counseling programs linked with local welfare centers for people with disabilities, and operating exclusive booths for hiring people with disabilities at job fairs.
Mayor Park Jun-hee said, “I hope that through this training, participants in jobs for people with disabilities will enhance their employment capabilities and be able to plan a better future,” adding, “We will continue to do our best to create an inclusive city Gwanak where everyone is happy by promoting various policies such as job support to expand economic independence and social participation opportunities for people with disabilities.”
