Daegu Catholic University Museum Opens Special Exhibition 'Hayang, Village of Water and Sun'

Special Exhibition in Seven Sections
Shedding New Light on the History and Value of the Hayang Area

The Daegu Catholic University Museum opened its special exhibition, "The Village of Water and Sunlight, Hayang," on the 20th.

This special exhibition was organized to shed new light on the history and value of the Hayang area, to foster local pride, and to widely promote Gyeongsan Hayang and Daegu Catholic University.


The exhibition is divided into seven sections, focusing on the nature, history, notable figures, and transformation of the Hayang area. It explores the region's history in depth through a variety of themes, from its roots to the present day.


The detailed sections are as follows: ▲Section 1 explores the origins of Hayang through stromatolite fossils ▲Section 2 features relics and artifacts from the Yangjiri site, believed to be the rulers of ancient Hayang ▲Section 3 traces the changes in Hayang's name as recorded in historical documents ▲Section 4 highlights historical figures who brought honor to Hayang ▲Sections 5 and 6 examine the transformation of Hayang through old maps from the Joseon Dynasty and modern maps ▲Section 7 looks at the current appearance of Hayang-eup.


Kang Jonghun, Director of the Daegu Catholic University Museum, stated, "Through this special exhibition, we aim to re-examine the history and culture of the Hayang area, communicate with local residents, and strengthen the museum's role as a community partner."


The special exhibition will run until December 31, and is open on weekdays from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Admission is free.
